Rep. Richard McCormick, R-Ga., told Newsmax on Tuesday that the Black vote in Georgia “is shifting back toward the Republican Party.”
While Black voters have traditionally support the Democratic Party, the election of 2024 might give Republicans their largest share of the Black male vote in decades. McCormick said while so many noble civil rights movements started in Georgia, many Black people haven’t seen progress “since the Martin Luther King era.”
“The Democrats have stood in the way of progress,” McCormick said on “Newsline.” “They have held back inner-city Black voters from what they need to achieve the opportunities. They’re disenfranchised and they’re tired of it.
