Vice President Kamala Harris visited Democratic National Committee headquarters on Election Day, dropping in on volunteers manning the phone banks. She then purportedly made some calls herself, but eagle-eyed viewers noticed that when she flipped her phone around while making one of the calls, she appeared to be on her phone’s camera app.
Video shows Harris speaking into the phone, saying, “Have you voted already?” She pauses as if she were listening, then exclaims, “You did, thank you!” She then turns her phone screen around to show supporters gathered around her. They cheer and clap, but the phone screen does not appear to be on an active call screen.
Social media users were quick to jump on the apparent gaffe.
